Coraline alge
Does anyone know why coraline alge would turn white in some areas of the tank?

I think that means it's dead, doesn't it? I bought my tank used, and it had some coraline alge at different spots all over, from top to bottom. I moved it home and immediately filled it to 1/3 full with prepared seawater (I had to do it a third at a time), and finished filling it over the next two days. The coraline algae that was on the bottom third of the tank is the pinkest, the middle third so/so and the top third is white. I figured that it died because of prolonged exposure to air.

yes
I did change my bulbs out. I have a power compact that sits above my tank. the original bulbs were a straight pin blue and a straight pin white. They no longer carry the same bulb. I had to go with a straight pin blue white combo. so instead of in being blue, blue, white, white now it's blue, white ,blue ,white.

Did you expose it to the air? Mine turns white when i do water changes or forget to add RO/DI to the sump.
