I could be wrong but most people I know have the lights set to come on around noon, 1pm or 2pm and have them run for 7-10 hours or so. I couldn't have my lights come on that early in morning unless I wanted to look at a dark tank at 8-9pm
I run mine from 2pm until 10pm or 1pm until 9pm durring the winter, Damn daylight savings time anyway LOL. Quote:

I don't bother looking at my fish in the morning...out the door too fast. My lights come on at noon....til 8. Weekends I turn them on earlier to have more viewing time Still off at 8 then.
