Which external pump?

Hi There,
I'm planning to redo my plumbing and go with an external pump instead. Looking around 1200gph. Which would you choose and why?

TIA,
JT

I saw Elite's Panworld 50PX-X in action and it runs quite nice.

I was in the same boat a few months back. I did a lot of research between the Iwaki 30rlxt (JP motor), the Panworld 100x-px and the posiedon T4.

I went with the Panworld. The Posiedon adds heat, but is very quiet and the Iwaki and the PW are pretty much the same pump, but the Iwaki proved to be a little louder , and more $$$.

I have been very happy with the decision.

cheers,

Jim

It's funny how you guys recommend the two models. Right now I'm considering either the 50PX-X or the 100PX-X. I think I'll go for the 50PX-X, since the 100PX-X is not that much more flow and burns an extra 40watts.

Thanks again,
JT

Watch out for pressure losses on the -X pumps if you have a lot of head.

Great point.

Thats why I went with the 100 model. I knew I had extra head to deal with, and I wanted to run 2 reactors from it as well.

The fan may be a bit louder than the 50 though. I'm sure you'll be happy with these PW's.

Cheers,

Jim

You guys have got me thinking. I'll be using it mainly for return, and maybe feed the refugium, but that's about it. I would say head loss would be around 6ft.
