New Tank
Well i need your help...
I will set up a new tank for a store, its going to be a 120Gal tank and the owner just want some "colorfull fish" so i was thinking in some easy tangs, clown, etc... The thing is that i want to go as non expensive as posible, so i need some tips to get the filter, ligth, etc... Do you have any ideas of what would i need to set up this tank for the lowest price (lights, filter)? (i do have some LR and sand) Thanks |

just get the good kind because in the long run you will end up getting them anyways. they cost a little more for a reason.

I would check out the forum sponsors on line and compare prices. Prices will vary from one vendor to the other on the same item.

Is this going to be a reef tank or a fish only tank ?
Setting up a fish only with live rock (fowlr ) is a lot cheaper.

Just remember that you get what you pay for. Go with more filtration, you can't over filter. You might want to do a pound per gallon with the sand.

If you already have that equipment it should be fine. If you're going to buy it I'd skip the canister filter and get a hob skimmer instead.
For a fowler I'd still recommend live rock. Besides the biofiltration it looks more natural and the fish tend to be more comfortable if they have hiding places. To save $ you could use both live and base rock.
