Blue Throat Trigger?

Does anyone have experience with this trigger fish? I hear that it is reef safe in some situations. I was thinking about adding it to my 90 gallon reef tank.

The meanest fish God ever made.....

Ok, maybe that is an overstatement, but I had one in a FO tank and he was mean, chased everything down, moved rocks around. I would hear banging and noises coming the tank, upon investigation I would always find the blue throat trigger thrashing things in the tank.

Of course your mileage may vary as each fish has a different personality.

I have heard some crazy stories about these fish. They rip up filters, chew piping in the tank, move rocks around and chip glass, and kill and chase other fish. They are best kept in a very large tank with other aggressive fish, or completely by themselves.

Again though, different fish can behave different, but generally triggers start off shy and sweet, and turn into crazy, aggressive but fun and entertaining super fishies!

If your still interested post another similiar message in the agressive-fish-only forum, the people in there are excellent and really helpful, they will sort it out for you.

I have a blue throat trigger in my reef right now and it hasn't harmed anything. My reef is a 90gal as well.

Thats awesome, your very luck then. How big is your trig tho BadOleRoss? I would guess he is about 5 inches or below.
What type of fish do you have in your tank too?
