brand name????

hey, new here but got a ? I'm putting together A 180g tank and I found some lights on ebay, wondering if its a good deal or a cheap set of lights that I should even mis with??

For that price you may want to check out an Aqua Medic light fixture from marinedepot.com. Aqua Medics use T5 lighting and HQI bulbs, which are superior to the SE bulbs that come with that fixture. The fixture is $1100, but I don't think you will be disappointed with the quality.

I agree, in the end you will spend more if you have to replace the ligting system.

is it worth the extra to get the 3-250's or go with the 3-150's HQI's I have a 180g 24" tall... might have a clam or two but most normal corals

I would go with the 3-250's since it is 72" long, with two 250's you will get some dead spots, unless you don't want your whole tank lit, such like German style tanks.

I would go with the 250 watt HQI lights. I think you will be pleased with the intensity and stuff will grow faster, always a plus.
