Good evening. I am just starting my adventure with metal halide lighting. I am curious as to how long I should run my lights? I previously had been running power compacts on my tank and the schedule was like this: Actinics come on ~ 8am, then ~9am the 10,000k power compacts came on. Around 10pm the daylights would go off and then around 11pm the actinics would go off. These lights were 96watt daylights and 96 watt actinics.
Now I will be running 2 96-watt actinic bulbs and 2 250-watt 14k MH bulbs all enclosed in a 36inch reflector. This over a 60 gal tank. So...again, what are some suggestions on how to run my lighting? Thanks in adance.

It's really up to personal preference and what you have in your tank.
What are you keeping or planning to keep? |

Currently I have a bunch of leathers, some GSP, mushrooms. I'm starting to get into some of the hard corals as well and have a few small frags of monticopora (sp?). I also have a couple of clams and plan to add some more. I would like to get some hammers and maybe a couple LPS as well in the future.
