Purple Tang gone crazy

Why would my Purple Tang I had for 4 months now suddenly started going crazy? I saw him this morning at lights on chasing my Chromis, my Leopard Wrasse, my Clownfish - something he never did before.

Water params have not changed.

Is there anything I can do to calm hom? Starting to wonder whether he did not kill my one Chromis, my one clownfish and my one purple firefish - all very healthy fish that suddenly started disappearing one after the other.

Purple tangs can become very aggessive. Watch his behavior to determine if he is showing signs of aggression towards your other fish.

TurboSnail - he IS aggressive. Thus this post.

I have caught him just now and will be moving him to my FOWLR Aggressive Fish tank. Let him try and chase my Lionfish.....

Glad you had alternate housing for him...too often people don't have that luxury.

All fish are "Unpredicable". I have many tangs--My Purple is a "pussycat". Just swims and leaves everyone alone. My yelow--He is a "MONSTER". Hates everything--except my Hippo, so go figure. I had to take out my flame angel (last year) and put him in with the Purple because he was being chased, and they were together for almost 2 years!!
