lighting upgrade

I just put my new orbit pro series mh-t-5 light on my tank it has 156 watts of atinics and 2 150 watt mh's with 10k blubs. I had 400 watts of power compacts on my 92 gal tank. I'm wondering if I should run my MH's like only 6 hrs a day to start and build up to 8 or 10 . any comments ?? with mh's how long is a full day ?

tnx
Rob

If you're trying to acclimate corals, I'd limit the hours and try to block part of the light, or raise the fixture. A full day is 8-10 hours or so, with a fairly wide range.

I started off at 6 and fried some corals. I had 4x96 PC' and upgraded to 2x250 HQI and 2x54 T5. I am currently at 5, but the height is a real key. Mine are in a canopy so I am limited there.
