They have bot been out too long.
I have seven of them in operation but it's only been for a short period of time but so far so good. I noticed the new Won Brothers unit is the same except for the color . |

Ok. That's scary. Considering the track record of Won brothers over heating etc. it would be very scary to consider that the controller is the same.

I was going to buy one with the matching titanium heaters, but if they are the same exact things as Won Brothers then i'll pass on it. Anybody know if they are indeed the same thing?

I don't know if it is the exact same unit. It just looks like it except for the color. It could very well be a knock off of the AM unit.

Yeah you are right, i just looked them up and they resemble each other quite a bit minus a few cosmetics. Thanks for pointing it out, lets hope someone knows for sure.

I just sent my aqua medic controller back today. It was reading my tank temp at 73 degrees so of course the heaters were on. But the actual temp in the tank was 83 degrees. Its a good thing I have small heaters and that I was watching it, otherwise it would have cooked my tank. I bought the controller back in mid June so it was a little over 6 months old. It worked great up until then though.
They are giving me a full credit for the controller. |

I have been using one for about 1 year now. It is also hooked into my Aquatronica controller for some redundency. So far I have been extremely happy with the unit. It ran by its self for about three months before I bought the Aquatronica controller. I did a lot of research and it was between the Biotherm or the Finnex heaters. I am happy with my decision.

I have the unit and I was happy with it.It was a degree off in temp from testing with a therm that I had my friend check at his work.I never had a problem with it.It was 1 to 2 degreee diff but heater was in my sump and you will always see a diff in tank sump temp(I had mh bulbs)

Unless your return pump is 100 gph your tank sump wouldn't be much over a few 10ths of a degree different then your tank.
