running halides using aqua jr. and DC8
Im getting my aqua jr. dialed in and when my lights turn on, through the dc8, my lights turn off when they reach full power.
I am running 2 250 watt mh and 1 150 mh and I dont know the combined amperage of these lights. I believe they exceed the max 15 amps the dc8 can handle. theres gotta be someone using this timer for their mh's!! If so, can you let me know what to do!!! Thanks in advance!! |

Its actually more likely around 800w, with ballasts, but the DC8 should still be able to handle it fine.

What do you mean by the lights cutting off. Is the whole DC-8 cutting off? Is a GFCI tripping? Are you blowing the fuse? One thing to try is staggering when they turn on. i.e. stagger the start time for each by 20 minutes.

The DC8 is rated for 6A per plug and not to exceed 15A for the whole unit. Crumble and Jag are right on the money. What else is on the DC8 and what do you mean by "Turn-Off"? I also recommend staggering the turn-on times for each ballast.

I have the dc8 turning on a surge protector that runs ALL of my lights... hence my problem!! I will stagger the lights as suggested. Thanks to all!!

I'm still not convinced that's the problem. Unless you're actually blowing the fuse in the DC8, I don't think that's the issue.

it works now
I had more than 6 amps on one circut. I ran each light on individual circuts and it works like a charm! Thanks to all for the input...
