Little "Seamonkeys"

I've got a 75g reef setup with a few peppermint shrimp, cleaner, and a few fish. (Tang, Foxface, Jawfish) I noticed tonight under one of my rocks about 5-8 what looked kinda like mini sperms jolting back and forth in a small circle. Sorry I have no pics, but was hoping someone could give me an idea what I've got in my tank.

Where would they come from? I recently got a button polyp from my LFS, could they have come from that? Are they bad?

mysids are a prize for the tank. fish will love them, and if you are luck they will breed in the tank.

How much research have you done...lol? Mysid are really good for feeding your fish. You can buy them in the store. They may have hitchhiked on the coral or they may be from your live rock.

Well since I don't know what a pinnaed is, I'll say mysid. Possibly they've always been there, and you've just never noticed them.

pinnaeds are also known as fairy shrimp, and are pretty much as common as mysids
