Euro Reef skimmer problem any advise..

I just bought a used rs8-2 skimmer and it was dry for about a month and I plugged it in today and for some reason its leaking around the neck area. I checked the o ring and it looked ok and I took it out and put it back in and it still leaks.

Does this affect the skimmer performance? And is this a common issue with the Euro-Reef skimmers. Any help would be appreciated.

I would post this in the Euroreef Section Forum in sponsors. I would say yes it would affect performance.
