Need fuge help

Ok since my new fuge got broken in the mail, we were thinking that using a 20 gal aquarium should be good enough. We have a 30 gal sump with baffles and such for a protein skimmer. Could we just a smaller tank for a fuge and add baffles if need be?

I dont see why you wouldnt jsut use one large sump and plce a fuge in the sump versus two tanks
