Aqualight Pro HQI System Light

Hello

I have a Aqualight Pro fixture with 2 HGI 150W 10K bulbs along with the 2 96W actinics. I just purchased it 3 months old. I was wondering if it is possible to use other HQI 150W bulbs in this fixture or do I need to stick with the Coralife brand bulbs in this fixture. Has anyone swapped out the bulbs?..If so..what bulbs did you use?..thanks!

Reefrock!

It's just different brand names... essentially, there all the same.

you can use different brand bulbs. I swapped out the coralife 10k bulbs and went with phoenix 14k's. as long as its the same wattage it will be ok

I have 14k's in mine too....I also changed one of the pc 03 actinics to a 10000k bulb so its bright enough to run pcs without the hqi bulbs. I now run just pcs for 2 hrs in morning to simulate a sunup, then all lights for 5 hrs to simulate midday sun, then only pcs for 2 hours to simulate sundown. Moon lights run for 4 hours at night along with refuge light.
