Unsure...
Within the past two weeks my tank has been getting quite a bit of algae on the sand bed and on the glass. The sand bed algae looks brown and the junk on the glass is the typical green (not hair algae). I have 3 sets of lights and the bulbs in the front canopy are about 9 months old. Could the algae be coming from the age of the bulbs in the front hood? And, there is a pretty decent cleaning crew although I'd still like to add more. TIA

color shifts in older bulbs can have an impact. If all other things...(water quality, feedings etc) have not changed, then teh bulbs are in question.

Thanx--yes, I'm guessing it is the age of the bulbs because the water parameters are where they should be and holding steady and the feeding routine has not changed.
