Feed it the same algae-based food you feed the other tangs. Sheets of Nori seaweed should entice it to eat. Happy New Year and good luck.

Could add garlic. But I'd wait and see, it should be eating within a couple days.

What part of India? I only visited there a few times to see some family. Is there any stores for saltwater fish there? Can you obtain anything from SRI Lanka or Fiji area easily or no?

i am in the indian capital- new delhi. yes there r a few stores here, but have to wait really long for the right stuff. stoney corals ae banned in india as they come under the SAVE OUR REEFS PROGRAMME. no, we cannot get stuff directly from srilanka pertaining to the small quantities and the high freight cost. most of the stuff comes here from singapore, malaysia, phuket and sometimes from hawai. only professionals of this field get it. we get food supplies here but at very very high cost - thats why i try getting it from the USA or Singapore or Malaysia(whenever any of my friends ormyself visits there)

The white spots sound like ich but a picture would help. The only way to treat it safely is to catch it and get it in quarantine.

The tiny white spots are probably ich, which is very common to these fish, particularly if they are stressed. If he's in your sump, instead of in a quarantine tank where he can be treated, you run the risk of all of your fish getting the ich. It may already be too late. It is possible that the ich may clear up on its own and won't travel from your sump into your main system, but your odds aren't very good IMO.

In a quarantine tank, you can treat the fish w/ copper or hyposalinity for 6-8 weeks.

Here are a couple of articles about marine ich:
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-8/sp/index.php
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues2...ature/index.php

As to the tang feeding, if you haven't tried it yet, rubberband some Nori to a piece of rock rubble. Sometimes new fish don't recognize food in a clip on the side of a tank as food. It doesn't seem natural to them. They normally would spend their day either swimming or picking at rocks, so some fish go for the algae on a rock more readily.

Best of luck!

As Someone mentioned earlier, get him into Quarantine then feed him Nori soaked in Garlic mine didn't eat for a week then he started with Nori and is now eating Mysis along with the other fish, but I had him Quarantined to teach him to eat from me as they are shy

PBTs are one of the hardest tangs to keep if he has ick its not going to make things any easier. definately treat it and quarantine it but byeond that it will be very difficult. Check your water parameters also. I lost 2 PBT's within a few weeks of them enetering my tank but my new one has been around for a while. They are just difficult fish to find healthy.
