First of all, what species of anemone do you have? It is best to feed it some sort of meaty food, like silversides, krill, etc. by simply placing onto the tentacles. However, it will only react properly if it is reasonably healthy.

I got my first BTA from Dr. Mac and asked how often to feed it. He recommended every other day. So I followed his advice, used a probe, and gave it bits of Silversides, fresh raw shrimp, etc. But I didn't like putting that much food into my tank so often and cut it back to once a week. I gradually reduced the feeding frequency even less. Now I may feed my BTA's once a month ...if I remember. Almost 2 years later, they're doing just fine. I agree with Amphiprion. I think a few important factors are: starting off with a healthy creature, sufficient lighting and a mature stable system.
