Monterey Bay Aquarium - A few pics from last week

So I have been to this Aquarium probably 15 times because I've grown up in Cali, and I was back in NorCal for New Year's and decided it was time to check it out again. Oh, of course the great white shark on display was appealing.

For those who don't know, the MBA is probably the best cold water aquarium in the world. They are very limited when it comes to reef animals, but the cold water, jellyfish, and outer bay exhibit are all fantastic. The main tank in the old portion of the aquarium is their 30 foot high living kelp forest which is open to the sky above and actually grows real kelp. The second most impressive is their great collection of rare and nearly impossible to keep jellies. I remember about 15 years ago they had a large jellyfish exihibit that was one of the first in the world to display jellies, and now they have tons of tanks dedicated to these awesome creatures. Lastly, they have their Outer Bay exhibit which holds HUGE Tuna, a Mola Mola, Dorado(Mahi Mahi) and many other open ocean type fish in one huge 1 million gallon tank, with a viewing window that is about 25' high and 50' long, and probably 1-2 feet thick plex! Plus, they currently have swimming in this tank a 6' juve male White Shark.

I love this place, here are a few pics:
