help me with coralife skimmer

hi guy when i hook up my skimmer the air silencer wont let air throught to create micro bubble but when i take it off the air will pass what gives?????

i think the air inlet silencer may be clogged???????? any help, should it be making bubbles during break in??????

Check to make sure the air silencer is not plugged with a piece of plastic from the molding process. You can unplug it by pushing a nail or pin down through the holes.
I am assuming this is a new unit and not an older one that may be clogged with salt. Cleaning would be the same method.

I've read posts from several guys with the same problem. It was always a piece of plastic in the silencer.

well i got it to work, now im breaking it in but its not making any sludge could it be that my tank is to clean i only got a scribbled rabbitfish and a watchman goby in a 55, how long should i wait to turn it up???
