Oh no did i screw up help fast please

I just mixed my kalk up for the next week and am about to leave back to school for the week. I have my familly take care of my tank when im gone. I was trying to make things easy for them and i put all my additives into my mixed kalk water in a 1g jug to be dripped into my tank. After doing this i read the do not thing on my new reef advantage raises calcium supplement and it says do not mix directly with carbonate buffers. Is kalk a carbonate buffer? And also i mixed my 2 little fishes 2 part additive into that as well. Do i have to re mix all this befor i leave and just have them put it in seperatly. Thanks.
Izzie

My guess is remix: when you put a buffer in with calcium, the result is a massive calcium precipitation = snow all over everything. Wait a few secs for someone to chime in, but I think this is a re-do.

Toss it, you just precipitated everything. That's why two parts are kept as two parts, not one part

Just tell your family how much of each part they need to add per day/2 days/3 days/week, whatever. Unless you have a major pH issue (too low) why are you using kalk and 2 part? kalk is tricky for people that aren't familiar with using it. I would not trust my family to use it on my tank unsupervised.

Its an auto top off coming from a 1g container so all they have to do is fill the container up. There not putting anything in the tank just keeping the container topped up. I have it all mixed ready to go its just got to be put in there so they cant really mess it up. And no PH issues just low calcium and im dosing 2 part dripping alk and dosing a calcium.

Is just Ca low? alk is OK? And how is your Mg? 2 parts and kalk for that matter only work if you are starting with an already properly balance system. If just calcium is low, raise it with calcium chloride, then use the 2 part and/or kalk to keep thses levels.

The Chem forum has great articles on all this. See here:

Thats exactly what im doing.....all that is low is my calcium. So went out and bought some calcium raiser and decided instead of having them messuring it out and put it in seperate i would drip it all at once. Then i read the do not part of the bottle thats on the opposite side as the directions noticed that. Ill just have them add it seperate now that i know tho. Also my dads taking care of it and hes a Dr. and my mom is a nurse so if they cant figure out 1 drip a second on my dripper im kinda scared for there patience.
