Aqua Medic Oceanlight T5 (72")

I’m partial to T5 lighting simply because of its efficiency. One suggestion is an Aqua Medic Oceanlight T5 (72”) from www.customaquatic.com for $364.99. It comes with 4x39w daylight and 4x39w actinic lamps. It can be either tank mounted or ceiling mounted.

If you have a hood, you will have plenty of retrofit options.

If you have a canopy I would just retro fit a single VHO (50/50) over the tank. You could get everything for right around $100 new, or less used. I agree with Navyblue above though, just go with whatever looks pretty to you since that will be the only important factor.

Normal Output T8s are way more efficient than T5s. I'd stick with them.
