Well if thats what you have now, since they are 10k, they would work. As long as they don't have that "drab yellow" look to them (some companies might mislabel them - for example the iwasaki 50,000k bulb looks like a 20k bulb). That company isn't really into the aquarium lamps, so their definition of "10k" might actually be alot lower spectrum. As long as it looks white, it should be fine. If you you don't have those, I probably wouldn't bother for 70 bucks a bulb.

I bought 10,000k Hammies to replace em and I'm shocked at how "yellow" the Hammies look next to em. I've been burning them in for the past three days but it's still yellow. I think I'm gonna have to return the one I havn't open yet and get something else.

I think PEC stands for Phoenix Electric Company, so you have the Phoenix bulb. If that is the case the Phoenix bulb burns with a blue cast.

I'll say...I had my PEC for a good 6 months with 10hrs a day on it. I also got em used and they had a few months before I got em, but they look so much like a new XM 15000k.
I had to take out the new Hammie as it was making a hummin noise and flickering. I took it out and found one of the end metal contacts missing. Yep...it was stuck on the fixture. I am very disappointed with the quality of the Hammie.
I put in a XM 15000k in place of the Hammie and I can't tell the difference between the XM and the old PECs. I'll burn the XM for a week and take some pics and post it here.

I also ordered some Reeflux 12000k, so I'll do some more nakkid eye test on em next week.
