brittle star ate my shrimp?

hi just got a peppermint shrimp yesterday to get rid of apatasia in tank. today i cant find it at all and my brittlestar's stomach is fat. i was wondering if it ate it? i saw it eat a molly out in there so i was thinking that it might have eaten the shrimp too. i didnt eat my other shrimp (coral banded) so i was wondering if it would eat the peppermint.

thanks

The brittlestar's do eat small fish and any thing else it can grab it may not have killed it and just ate it after if died from something else or it might have grabed it and ate it. You will never know. But keep a eye on him because it might eat more fish and things. The coral banded might beable to fight off the starfish. Good luck.

Is it a Green Brittle star? Of so, they eat anything they want, including fish

I've never been able to keep a shrimp in my tank for longer than one day. Never seen one eaten, but I have suspected my green brittle star for awhile now.

He definitely has something in his stomach. My brittle stars have never swallowed anything bid like a shrimp before, but I will have to keep my eyes on them now.

From what I've read, it's only the green brittle stars that you really need to be leary of. They will catch and eat fish as well as anything else they decide is edible.

LOL, they're obviously pliable. It looked even cooler when the shrimp settled sideways. Like a big watermelon, but I had already banished him to the sump and my camera couldn't get a good picture.

Target feed him, keep him full and you should not have a problem with him!

I have one with 2 shrimp. The blood shrimp even robs food from his arms when he is feeding!
