blooms

so, i've got algae blooms that only take place in the afternoon. with lights on algae forms on rocks. with lights off algae makes the water cloudy but does'nt grow on anything. how long and when should i have my lights on? thanks for all the info.

I'd just go for a normal lighting cycle.
