Water flow????HELP!!!

How much current should be in my 75. Until today all I had was my wet/dry filter with a Rio 2100 for circulation. Probably around 390gph at best. Today I added a maxi jet that has been modified with mjmods.com medium current fit. Looking like 1500gph. This is just for flow inside the tank, but it looks insane. Mind you I'm use to seeing things not really move around much (in the current.) At what point can I damage say my torch coral, or frogspawn, anemone, etc.....with to much flow.

Thanks in advance...

You can go as high as 20x an hour turnover without harming as long as it's not direct flow..."roughly including all pumps, powerheads, etc." Most people hit the 10 to 15x per hour as medium flow...as a reference.

If you're keeping softies and anemones, 20x gph is on the low end of adequate IMO. SPS tanks should have even more, and many SPS keepers here on RC have A LOT more.
FWIW,

For those corals (torch coral, or frogspawn) you don't need much flow.

I've got brain coral, frogspawn, hammer, tourch, anemone, tons of xenia, clam, polyps, Yellow Fiji Leather, trumpet coral, and I have one other thing but I can not for the life of me remember what it is called...

If you use things like Seios or pumps with valves on the discharge they can always be adjusted down but you can't make a pump do more than its capacity. I suggest always buy slightly bigger than you think you will need, don't go overboard but do get bigger.

More flow means less waste settling, which means better growth and health.

Yea, but he seems to be wondering how much flow his corals can stand without being damaged or stressed...

Thats exactly what I'm wondering about. I am hopeful that they will adjust to the flow a bit over the next few days. The leather already looks better than it did initially.
