the flow from the PS (same one i have) isnt really as effective as the PH's because of the restriction from the skimmer box/container itself and the width of the output is larger than the diameter of the PH's.

Current Tank Info: SPS dominated barebottom display with BB sump since 2005, most consistant parameters in 19+ years of reefkeeping.

yeah, I've read not to include the skimmer in GPH.

3XMJ-1200 = just under 1200 GPH. place one in the middle (back) intercoursing with the other two from each end. place it lower then the others and aim it upwards. they rotate 360 degrees and are the #1 choice for almost everyone on RC due to versatilty.

correct, not much lower then 2-3 inches then the others, but it must intersect or it might blow water out of the tank, since 55's are narrow and youre pushing 290GPH. if you place it above them you will have a downward push which would be good for the cyano removal, but bad for sandstorm. duuhhh John i would use a MJ-400 or MJ-600 in the middle! had a blonde moment! sorry!

you need surface breakage for gas exchange and to help keep a steady pH by introducing more oxygen while releasing more carbon dioxide.
