110 gal tanks what lighting are you running 60x18x24

I am thinking about running 3X250 MH and 2x80 watt icecaps. all DIY kits. What are your thoughts and what do you run?

For a 5' tank you could just as easily get away with twin halides, esp since you plan on using T5s which will fill in nicely.

I would do 2x250wattDE and 4x80wattT5. OR, you could even just get away with 4x54wattT5, as the 6" left over on the ends wont be that noticable. This should be plenty of light for a 5' 110g. The 4 rows of T5s will allow you to run 10,000K halides like XDEs, because the 4 rows of T5s will provide loads of blue. You can use 2x actinic03 bulbs, and 2x blue+ or actinic+ bulbs (the brighter, bluer bulbs). The end look will be very nice and balanced.

My 100G is 60x 18 x23H and I use 2x250w XM 10k MH and 2x140w URI super actinic VHOs. Reflectors are 2x24" PFO Parallels and all ballasts are Coralvues.

New guy here. Are you guys talking about the "all in one systems" or the retro fit DIY kits. Sorry I don't know the lingo.

I have almost the same tank, except mine is a 120-125...

I put 6 48" VHO's on there. I staggered them to cover the whole tank.

I am very happy with them!
