I want to know..

Well, a couple of days ago i went to petco to get some water conditioner for my freshwater tanks. I have no reef tanks, yet. But, I saw this beautiful fish, it was white with black polka dots. I wanted to know if anyone knew what this species of Salt Water fish this was?? I plan on getting one whenever I start keeping Salt Water aquariums. Thanks.

Last time I checked petsmart didn't carry Saltwater fish, are you SURE it was salt water and not just a cichlid?

You may want to do some research on salt water tanks, I've just now gotten into them and you have to really forget every thing you know about salt water, you can't pick fish because of the way they look really, more of can you meet all of the needs for it and give it a happy healthy life.

This is a very hardy and long-lived animal provided it is kept in an ample-sized, fish-only aquarium of 300 gallons or larger, with sufficient filtration. They grow rapidly, so be sure that the tank you have them in is of sufficient size. The Panther Grouper will eat any fish and invertebrates it can swallow.
You will need a large tank!

From Live Aquaria

I'll bet they won't tell you this at Petco!

ya, you might want to do some research on that one!! even though Petco may tell you it's ok to go in a 55 gallon....

If that's the fish you really want to keep, you better start looking into a 350+ gallon tank.....

I don't know about your petco, but the one here is SCARY when it comes to the water conditions in their saltwater tanks.....

Make sure you quarantine him before introducing him into the tank. FYI
