Legs on PC lighing, questions

Ok so I guess a better way to put this is, what are the pros and cons to putting legs on your pc lighting. I have some for mine, but I feel like by raising the lights the couple of inches away from the tank I'm going to get less light on my corals at the bottom of the tank. Is this true? Should I keep them on? I'm already running lean on my lighting.

Also how often to I need to change my PC bulbs?

I put legs on mine because even PC's were heating up my tank quick

In my head i would think the further the light, the less intense, but don't have a light meter to REALLY prove it.

Change every 6-10 months dependent on what quality bulb your buying

I pray your RBTA crawled up high...

I have 322watts of PC's sitting right on top of my tank. The only real problem I see is salt creep
