bravo Twallace. very nice looking clam. since you have the same tank as cyclops23 and the same lighting where in you tank is that clam placed? thanks

It's placed fairly high up, about 6-8 inches below the water surface. I have my Tek light directly on top of the tank, so the bulbs themselves are only a couple inches above the water.

I would think the color shift might be due to bulb spectrum and not light starvation JMO. IME to keep the green you need very blue bulbs.

I like the way it looks now better, actually. My old one always had a green sheen when it was under VHO. If that damn heater had never malfunctioned, I would still have it and my T. derasa.

very nice, Twallace. i didn't mean for this to turn into a lighting debate, but some of you guys gotta lighten up. i don't care about showing you PAR readings and comparisons as much as i care about showing you a live, healthy clam in a year. if the clam dies, you can go ahead and gloat, but i think it will be ok. for bulbs i have 2 actinic plus, 1 aquablue, and 1 GE daylight. it's 4" above the water and the clam is in the upper half.
