Anybody Got Pics of Corals on Overflow Boxes?
I'd like to see them...zoas, green star, xenia...whatever, I'd like to see pictures of corals on overflow boxes or glass.

I did it on mine because I'm actually tired of cleaning my box....when it's finally covered with zoos (realizing this may take a couple years) There won't be a need for scrubbing algae!

Wow, great thread! I love the solid zoas on the back and
the "frag mags" are a cool concept.

That's like a small fortune of zoa's on the back wall of that tank. That's awesome.

They are getting so thick I have to use a razor blade and trim away from the overflow fingers every couple of weeks. You can also just see the intake screen for my closed loop pump peeking up in the middle right and they are starting to grow around the bulkhead and 90 degree elbow and travel up the screen there too! I have zenia on the other end of the tank back but it never got as thick or grew as fast as the zoos.

Here ya go. The room is kind of dark so you can't really see my handywork on the stand and canopy though.
![]() ![]() Here is an older picture showing the stand and canopy and the cabinet I built for the chiller next to the tank. It was taken in June so you can see how much the zoanthids have grown in 7 months time! ![]() |

Thanks, I just wanted a better idea of how much the back is covered with the zoas. Looks like you also have some xenia on the glass in the back right?

Thanks Guys. I get lots of positive comments whenever someone comes over for frags. I share stuff like crazy to help others get started, had three people over in the last week and I think they all went away happy!
Look at the big biege monti cap on top, in the June picture its 6 inches below the surface and in todays pic its growing out of the water. I have fragged two big leaves off of it already for raffle prizes at my club meetings and it still grows like a weed. |
