How to catch Hitch-hiker crab?

I've seen a crab in my tank only once that I have not purchased . I hear there are certain crabs you do not want in your tank. How do I go about catching this critter as I have not seen him again? I hear there are some type of methods using a glass bottle or jar?

The only problem is they didn't catch any crabs! It probably would have worked had there been any, though.

My emerald crabs actually seem to be more active during the night, that being said why not look for it with a flash light and see if you can net him or heck you could probably just grab him and if you don't want it then I wouldn't worry about hurting it. Do you have a refugium or a sump? some people put them in there and let them eat any little thing that makes it in.

I used a small glass bowl placed next to the LR and some meaty bait. The crab crawled up on the LR and dropped into the bowl to eat the bait. Once in the bowl, the crab could not crawl back up the smooth sides of the bowl and was trapped.
