Little Giant break in period?

My little giant bailed on me the other day (though I managed to get it running again good as new after the fact) so I ordered a new one - it's the 3-MDQX-SC. I liked it so I opted to stick with it. Hooked it up today and it is SO loud. My other one was not loud at all, it just hummed. This one is humming and - I hesitate to say grinding, but it sounds like it's still passing air.

I may just be making this up, but I seem to remember my old one was loud when I first set it up, too. I'm also noticing microbubbles in the tank which may be directly related to the new pump. I'm thinking when it slimes over, breaks in a bit, it'll quiet down, right?

Does anyone else have the break in memories for your little giants?

My LG's were always quiet... maybe you have a small air leak on the inlet side (air will leak when water will not)
