Found a new sand.
http://www.glcalcium.com/datasheets2...%20Calcium.pdf
Basicly, it's calcium to feed the cattles, made from pure Calcite limestone. Available in most COOP at ~2$/ 50lbs. 12 Mesh sze is 1.68mm, I guess it's better than pulverised limestone (dust). % Calcium Carbonate CaCO3 98.24 Elemental Calcium Ca 42.21 Magnesium Carbonate MgCO3 1.32 Elemental Magnesium Mg 0.36 Silica SiO2 0.3 Aluminum A12O3 0.06 Iron Fe2O3 0.09 Sulfur S 0.07 Total Available Carbonates 99.56 |

Interesting. I wonder how this compares to hobby aragonite. The only thing that worries me is the aluminum and sulfur. Maybe that's a small enough amount to be safe. You should post this in the chemistry forum and ask Randy.

Well it's almost the same as aragonite, but it's more stable (aragonite turn in calcite with time, both are CaCO3).
I'm sure aragonite would have aluminium and sulfure too. It's only 0.07 % or 7/10000.
