What make and model is it?

To start off, you need to dial it down. I know it's very tempting to turn it up so that the bubbles are at the top of the collection cup. But the point is to have it lower, then frothy foam will slowly build up and overflow into the cup.

Since the skimmer is new, it needs time to break in too. So again, just dial it down and wait a few days before dialing it up a little bit.

Need to post what kind of skimmer/fuge you have. Sounds like just an adjustment issue but I don't know how to adjust the "fuge in question".

I hate to say it but i think you have a catalina/odyssea/jebo product on your hands. I wouldn't trust one of there skimmers. I looked at the orca site you bought it from and thats my assumption. If that is your only skimmer in your 125 then you need a larger one anyhow. Sorry! ps, you could have bought the same one at aquatraders for $59

Mine overflows when the water level is too high in my sump. Is it a hob?

In sump skimmers are very sensitiveto minor water level changes. You need to either adjust the intake valve or reposition the out put tube so that the water is moving out of the skimmer quicker
