that is pretty neat have you made a thread yet of the parts and pics of the build? I like the four doors and the top that opens.

they are plasic coated the open top rods that is. The door hinges are hidden piston rods, the are on the interior of the hinge, if they rust I'll put new ones in, it takes me about 10 min and being the machining forman of one of the highest end cabinet shops in CA that my dad ownes it makes it pretty easy to get them. I have about 5000 in stock right now.

haha yep the finishing that I did on the cabinet was a 6 step conversion varnish we just put up a $500,000 new finishing system in our second wherehouse bay looks great from up close when its done its as smooth as glass. As you could see from how close the lumenarc is from hitting the canopy its nice to have machines that can cut in 1/6000 inch increments. Ill start throwing the pics of the construction in here.
The 275lbs capacity hyrdo drawer slides will be here next week so I can finish the stand. Have you ever seen a stand that has a slide out sump??? HHAHAHA thanks guys |

ok guys here is the canopy pics. I can't find the basic construction of it but its just 4 face frames w/ 45 degree angles mitered together.
HINGE PLACEMENT FOR THE BACK BUILDING THE TOP WITH FLUSHED CROWN MOLD TO THE BOTTOM INTERIOR WORKINGS OF THE HINGES NOW THE FINISHING PART TAPED OFF THE INSIDE AND PAINTED SWISS COFFEE WHITE THEN A COAT OF CLEAR IS APPLIED OVER THE WHITE FOR EASY CLEANING CUSTOM 2 PART STAIN WAS THEN MADE TO MATCH THE FURNITURE IN MY HOUSE EXACTLY FIRST RED BASE STAIN IS APPLIED AFTER BEING WIPED CLEAN THE TOPE DEEP MOCHA STAIN IS APPLIED STAIN FINISHED NOW ON TO THE CLEAR COATS AFTER THE PRIMARY SEALANT COAT IS APPLIED THAT IS ALREADY BETTER THAN 98% OF FINISHES ON THE MARKET IT IS SANDED DOWN WITH 600 GRIT SAND PAPER THEN THE FINAL COAT OF CLEAR GOES ON BEFORE AFTER I will make a post on monday of the construction on the open top thanks for keeping up on my project. I will begin the stand pics next week. The tank should be running as soon as Red Dragon pumps are available again from captive oceans next month, Happy reefing |
