New water storage preperation

I recently bought a new 30 gallon Rubbermaid trashcan from WalMart.

It's not 'food grade' by any means so I carefully wiped the inside with straight vinegar and then rinsed it with warm water.

Does anyone believe this will be sufficient to rid the plastic of most toxic oils? I'm sure it won't remove ALL of them of course.

Surely, over time ( and hopefully soon ), the oils will eventually all seep out and the container will be 100% safe, right?
