Aragamax Sugar Sized Sand - how much is needed?

Hi folks,

Could you tell me how much of this stuff is needed for 1" sand bed in my new 8x2x2? i.e. I've been given confliction advice - one saying 10lbs per sq. ft gives 1", and another saying that 10lbs per sq. ft gives 2".

Thanks

Matt

FWIW, in my setup with aragamax sugar sized oolite I got 1 inch per square foot for each 7.5 lbs. (approx)

So based on that estimation you would need 120lbs for 1" in your setup. Of course the amount of surface area taken up by rock will cause this to vary.

You will probably be safe using 90lbs per cubic foot in the calculator.
