Tar ballast (magnetic) vs. electronic
I have 3 - 250 watt metal halides with mogul bulbs on my 155 and I was wondering if there is a big electrical cost difference between the two, my elc. bill is pretty insane.

You might save up to 50 watts per bulb by switching to electronic. But 50 watts X 10 hours per day=1/2 kwX30 days=15 kw. I know you pay a high electric in Ca but say it's 30 cents kw/h that would still only be 5 bucks a month. It would take awhile to get up to the price of 3 new ballasts.
