Feedback on Octopus Skimmers

I was hoping to find some feedback on this skimmer, ... I found a thread but it was very hard to follow.

I noticed there was a thread also about modifying the skimmer, does it not perform well enough taht it needs to be modified?

I love mine after the mesh mod. Personally I think its the best you can do for cost. The mesh mod is a must and it's easy.
