fresh garlic for white spot
just noticed the tang i bought two days ago is suffering with white spot......
is fresh garlic with food a way of curing white spot? if not...what are some natural ways for curing this desease.... my water params are all fine, plus its feeding regulary, and doesnt seem to be stressed as he was on the first day when he hid for most of the day. 3rd day hes up and about at the front swimming etc. eating everything.....can white spot go away by itself does it have to be treated? |

Hi, itried a treatment called parazoryne and garlic guard and a tang that was absolutely covered was cured in a day but it may have hurt my xenia. Look at my thread help!

Check the disease forum and look for the Ich thread at the top. It'll give you all the facts and treatments.
No, garlic does not cure ich. It may help your fish fight it off but is not a long term cure.

You can buy garlic extract in a bottle at most online reef shops and it has cured my ich and white spot on every occation with tangs.
You have to keep using it as directed for around one month till the cycle of ich has completed. If I remember, ich cycles in around 4 to 6 weeks. If you stop using it during that time, it will come back. |
