skimmers and copods

I installed my new RS-80 Protein Skimmer last week. The mechanical functions seem to be just right. Now my question. Since I have installed the PS, i see hardly ANY copods. Does the PS kill the copods? Maybe it is just a coincidence. Thanks for the input.

probably just a coincidence, unless the PS is removing nutrients copepods thrive on. do you have a refugium?

PS won't kill pods, but it can rid some of the stuff they eat.
Not enough to hurt the population really.
A fuge is huge on keeping them.
Add some chaeto.
Some people dose phytoplex to feed pods/boost them.

I'm feeding mysids and amphypods additionally (what don't improve my water quality ), and you can see them, if you place the small rock with algae or polyps close to the front or side glass - where you can observe, and the fish will not be able to get them.
Have oversized skimmer on this tank, but can see mysids.
