Why are aptasia's bad??
I am somewhat new to the hobby. I bought a piece of branch rock and noticed it starting to grow. My friebd came over and said it was bad and to get rid of it. It has grown quite fast. I think it looks cool waving in the water. Why would i want to get rid of it ??

Not having seen a photo I wouldn't say if it is Aiptasia so i'm not going to shout kill it. If it is, and you have goals of a nice coral display, you'll need to erradicate it. Now I'm going to commit heresy here and say if you like it, keep it. You would probably have to forgo keeping corals for the aforesaid reasons but what the heck. A weed is just an unappreciated flower.
