Moving a tank.

Last weekend I moved a 150G tank. Has anyone done this before and have information on the after effects? I kept the sand in the tank but changed the sand in the refigium. The tank has about 300 lbs of rock and is 2 years old.

Thanks.

I've moved some of my tanks before. Your tank should stablize quickly and since you didn't remove the sand I suspect a good deal of your critters survived if the sand was kept moist and there were pockets of water trapped within the sand. You did loose some life. You can always replenish with a detritivore kit or by adding some new algae to your refugium.

I hope this answered your questions.

The clams seem fine and the rest of the corals look good, except for the ones that where damaged in the transfer.
This is the beginning of a transfer to a 210g drilled tank. So I will be doing this again in about 1 month.
Thanks for the help

Should I expect a coraline algae die off?

I recently moved my 90G a few feets to paint the walls, etc. It stayed that way for 48 hrs or so and all the coraline algae that wasn't covered by water died.
