Any tips on traping those very quick Starter fish (Damsel) without having to remove everything from the tank?

It's a pain. I nearly had to rip the tank apart when I tried to get one out of my tank long ago. There's some threads on diy acrylic fish traps out there. Might be too much work though.
Look on Melev's site www.melevsreef.com

I've tried the nets. they go into the rocks and hide. I've even tried leaving the nets in the tank over night to try to let them get used to it. they don't fall for it.

Mantis Shrimp the spearer type
Joking of course but it would work. id take a little 20oz plastic coke bottle and put some mysis into it. hold it horizontal in the tank and push out a little food to entice him in, once he goes in quickly hold it vertical. I did it to mine acouple of times during some tank moves and it worked like a charm. |
