What made all my inverts spawn?

So today I came home form work, and noticed tons of odd things going on.

1. Well I think, my snail was laying eggs? if so do they stand a chance of hatching?

2. Also I have seen in my zoo patches tiny Bristle Stars, well I assumed they would always be tiny, but today they where out and about, and now are like 3-4inches long, i've never seen them come out before.

3. Also I wasn't able to pinpoint it but it looked like my zoo's were smoking? (or was it a creator under zoos), there was a pretty good amount of white 'smoke' coming from something..

So my question is what caused all this to happen to day??

I've made some changes to my tank yesterday, I know i shouldn't be doing so many things at once.

1. Put carbon in, haven't had it in a few months.
2. Put a phosphate remover in

You don't live in England do you? Had another post from there reporting the same thing. Maybe the spring tide?
