pump for my 60g. tall ???

i have a 60g. tall display tank in the front room of my basement being feed by a sump and fuge system in the back room of my basement.
i am curently using a mag 9.5 as a return pump with a CPR overflow. the overflow can handle 800 gph. with all the verticle push, horizontal push, 90's, t's, outlets, etc... the pump is barley pushing water (it is pushing, just to low preasure for me and the inhabitants). since the over flow can handle more i want to step it up. i want to stay with a submersible though for ease (glass 20g. long sump)(dont want to drill). being in the basement , heat isnt a problem.

i am thinking about a mag. 12 or 18 with a ball valve to scale it back if need be.

what's your opinion in this situation???
is a mag 12/18 overkill for this system?
i checked flow charts, and my system does have a lot of head presure.
technicly and numericaly / according to the flow chart either should be ok.

what do you think???

the plumbing now consists of about: 3 ft. vertical, 5 ft. horizontal, 1 check valve, 1 ball valve, 3 t's, 4 90's, 4 out puts. all 3/4.

the plumbing goes through the wall , from the back room(sump) to the front room(display).

idealy i should redo my plumbing, however due to the lack of current time and along with near future plans to buy a house and totaly redo the whole system, i want a simple solution for now .
mag 18's are on sale for about $100 - that seems like a cheap, simple solution.
with the new house and new tank - will come better planed plumbing with external pumps.

any comments or thoughts ???

I run a Mag 12 on my 65 and that's with only 4 feet of plumbing to go through and my corals love the flow. I have a ball valve inline but have yet to turn my flow down.
