mantis shrimp! need help
hey guys...my bro has a 30 gallon tank with some live rock...it has some little corals etc on it... he also has two percula clows..a shrimp...and he did have an anenome..
recently the anenome died...he thinks its cause of some sort of infection? i believe its the mantis shrimp...its only tiny..we discovered it last nite making its self a burrow...whats the best way to get him out to identify to make sure it is....we are pretty positive it is.... how long before they starting doing damage? thanks guys |

I don't think a mantis would take down an anemone. I would check out the mantis shrimp forum. Those guys will want to buy it off you after you catch it and give you tips on how to catch it
If you have snails or crabs or anything and you here a clicking type of sound then it is most likely a mantis, especially if you find shells all over the place empty.

My husband had a mantis kill an anemone. I watched him do it, but he was too fast for me to catch, so its definitely possible.
