Hey MSM I have some flatworms that look like that. How do you get rid of them?

Use Salifert Flatworm Exit (FWE). Before treating, use some airline tubing and siphon off every one that you can find. When they die they release toxins that can cause harm to tank inhabitants.

I suggest dosing the FWE with at least 2x the recommended dose. The first time I treated, some lived through and the survivors now had a resistance to FWE. Other than that, follow the FWE directions exactly. This will include a water change and running tons of carbon.

I found out in the Salifert forum that high doses of FWE are safe for everything except flatworms.

One more thing; when you treat with FWE, make sure to use a powerhead to blast treated water through all the rocks to make sure you get some medicine into every crevice they might be hiding in.

Does a fresh water dip do anything to them?

Probably, but these aren't the AEFW that are conveniently located on a coral. These are spread through every nook and cranny of the tank, so a dip wouldn't be possible.

IMO it would be better (and easier) to dose the FWE in the above mentioned way than remove all rock and dip it. JMO

Sorry, I should have said, if you get in new corals, plants, etc.. a fresh water dip, will it take care of the flat worms?

What about one of these iodine dips, and is there any info as to what ratio to mix iodine to do a dip?
